Board of Directors

The school is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for the long term development of the Prague British School. The Directors all work at the school on a daily basis.

The Board formally approves all school policies and holds a formal board meeting each half term.

The Prague British School Directors are:


John qualified as a teacher (B.Ed. Hons) in 1989 at Lancaster University, Charlotte Mason College. After four years of teaching in Oldham, UK, he went to work in his first international school in Kuwait. He then moved to work in Shell Schools in Malaysia, Syria and Oman, being promoted to Deputy Head and then to Head of School. John joined PBS in September 2006 as Head of Primary Schools. John is a qualified ISI inspector, COBIS Accreditor and was a member of the COBIS Board for eight years. He has a NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Leadership and Management. John met his wife, Aimee (who also is a teacher)  while teaching in Malaysia. He has three children, of which two are still at PBS, and another one studying in Holland.  



Michael graduated from Manchester in 1993, studying Psychology (BSc) before moving on to Leeds to complete a PGCE in ICT.  He was Head of ICT in York for nine years where he met his wife Nathalie before moving to Harrow International School in Thailand as Head of House.  In 2010, Michael and his family moved to the Netherlands, joining the British School in Amsterdam as Senior School Headteacher.  Michael completed an MBA from Keele in 2013 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  He is a keen sportsman and has a passion for skiing.  He has two children who attend the PBS Senior School.



Lenka has belonged to the school management team for more than sixteen years. Since joining the school she has worked in various non-academic management positions. She was responsible for establishing the Czech British School in 2005. As Sourcing and Services Director she is responsible for the development and management of all school properties. She likes to spend any free time that she has with husband Petr and their son Adam.



After graduating from the University of Economics in Prague, Michal worked for trade, audit and real estate companies and studied law. Michal has been working with the school since 2000, initially as Financial Director and, from 2007, as Managing Director. He is responsible for the administrative and financial areas of the school operation. He has two children at PBS.



After graduating from Strathclyde University in 1994, Fraser moved to the Czech Republic to take up a teaching position. After 4 years teaching at high school and university level in Liberec, Fraser moved to Prague and worked for a relocation company as an account manager before joining the Prague British School in 2004. Fraser is responsible for the Marketing and Admissions office at the school and is involved in account management, external relations and event organization. His two children, Anna and Joe, keep him well informed about what is going on in the Primary School.

Staff Representative Committee Chair

Non voting member

The school has an established Staff Representative Committee which meets regularly to discuss issues of pertinence to staff. The chair of the SRC is also invited to attend Board meetings.
